Racing & Training -"banter not victory"
The place to learn, race, get better and break bones!!!!!!

As you have probably guessed, banter is the name of the game here at Warwicksnow and it is debatable if we have race teams at all as most of the time the only racing you will see Warwicksnow members doing is drinking races. Never the less we do attempt to compete on occasions with the yearly mini tour to Edinburgh and our numerous attempts to whip our great rivals Loughborough. Talking of Loughborough, if you ever hear the words "my old man said ski for Loughborough" make sure you reply in emphatic fashion with the reply of: "I said f**k off, bollocks your a c*nt!". On the whole training/learning thing, be sure to talk to Alex Bunn who will take you on one of our numerous lessons/recreational and freestyle sessions at Tamworth and Milton Keynes, both of which have real snow!!

Training

So you've never seen snow before, well that's perfect as England is a very snowless place and without snow you may as well spend those long winter days down the pub. But fear not there is a place where you can enjoy the pleasure of snow and the taste of alcohol, its called Milton Keynes Snowdome and its got REAL snow and whats more it's under an hour away. Make sure you join Mike in one of his numerous lesson and recreational sessions.

LEARNING - On selected Wednesdays throughout term join us on one of our subsidized lesson sessions. Ideal for beginners or those who simply want to improve these trips can provide an ideal warm up for our Christmas tour. Contact mike@warwicksnow.net for more info.

RECREATIONAL - An ideal way to make new friends and have a hell of a lot of fun our fortnightly recreational sessions are not to be missed. This year we may also be undertaking the exciting world of freestyle skiing, keep checking the web site for more details. PLEASE NOTE - to participate on a recreational session you must have prior experience i.e.. be able to stop!

KIT - As both recreational and learning sessions take place on real snow you must be prepared for chilly temperatures. Make sure you come equipped with a jacket, warm loose trousers, gloves, hat and thick socks, all in one ski suits are greatly encouraged and fancy dress is occasionally a must! If you don't have any of the gear above, don't worry, just make sure you beg. borrow or steal! As long as you don't steal from our friends at Lockwoods in Leamington Spa and Two Seasons in Coventry both of whom will sort you out with some quality gear.

Racing

So we may not be the fastest, we may not be the smoothest but we sure are the most banterful and after all it is banter not victory that counts. You don't have to be the next Seth Morrison to get involved with our racing so come along to one of our regular race training sessions and see what it's all about. We normally train on a local dry ski slope which may not be ideal but its still banterific. Our annual Autumn trip to take on the might of the UK at Edinburgh is another highlight of our calendar so keep posted for more details.

Alcohol
And if all the above sounds a little daunting and you still aren't tempted by the joy of snow then simply come to our socials where you can make a whole load of new friends and through the fantastic coaching skills of our existing racers you too can become a fully fledged alcoholic
